This week's releases

Yes, I know that there was no entry last week... Basically because there was no yaoi released last week... Not in this backward country anyway...
Under Grand Hotel vol 2 was officially released (it was available a month ago on akadot retail... they're special...). It wasn't available at the store, so I'm hoping that it's gonna be available at the store THIS week...

*takes a deeeeeeeeeeep breath*
YOSH! Onto this week's announced releases.
This comes from the site I go to to see which graphic novels are released this week, and those that are supposed to be released next week.
I haven't been to the store since I haven't been to work yet, so I don't know what they have for me this week.
Monday, there was a bus strike(stupid really), and I knew I wasn't going to be able to get a cab to work. If I did, the driver would probably ask me to add 100 pesos (about AU$2.50) to the fare. This may not be much, but I only usually have to pay up to 150 pesos. I was all dressed up and everything too... Tuesday was declared a holiday because of a muslim thing... 

Kiss Blue vol 2, finally, the conclusion to the story. More than 2 years between volumes x.x
This actually has one of the more typical story lines of BL (yup, this is just BL, not yaoi). Involving 2 best friends, one falls in love with the other, who is a playboy. The one in love tries to hide his feelings to be able to stay beside the other as his friend. I really liked this for some reason that escapes me at the moment. The art isn't what I'd rave about, but it's really good and decent compared to some others out there. Here's hoping that there's a wee bit of smutt in this one :D

Treasure vol 1. FINALLY! Another series that I reallly like. There are 4 volumes in all. And 1 more as a spin off, not sure if it's been licensed along with this one though.
This is about 2 cousins, one from the countryside and very innocent, the other city smart and loves bullying his cousin. As they say, boys bully the one they like *snicker*. The country boy has a few surprises up his sleeve. He is extremely sporty, inhumanly strong and a quick learner... but not that quick hehehe
I have all scanlations of course, I wouldn't be this excited otherwise.
Riyu Yamakami is one of the mangakas that I like ^_^

Now, the non yaoi... it's actually a novel, not a manga

Yashakiden vol 3. Written by the same mangaka that wrote the Vampire Hunter D series (I LUUUUUUUUUUUUURV D!)

Like some other books that I own, this is one series that I have, but have not read yet... ^.^;;

There is no yaoi or BL or any other graphic novel on my list scheduled to be release next week, which is a good thing... I guess... I'm waiting for amazon to have a sale after thanksgiving, hoping that the stuff I have in my shopping cart would be on sale or be given a bigger discounted price...

Oh... I did get 1 manga and 1 novel last week...

Double Cast and Endless Comfort

I read the scans I had of the two manga that's supposed to be released this week.... And I remembered the feeling of frustration I had with Double Cast.

Double Cast is a bit similar to Haru wo Daiteita(LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this!). The leads are both actors, not AV though, and the younger one goading the older one into doing a project together... No smutt... But it's a cute story... not really necessary for the hard core yaoi fan though.

Endless Comfort is about a quiet dog trainer who sustained a terrible trauma when he was younger. It's not obvious though. He is gentle and he smiles a lot, one wouldn't think that he had that sort of past. The dog owner has his own emotionally troubled past. So basically it's a story of two people, finding each other and finding comfort in each other... Of course there are other people, like the dog owner's "lover" and his lover. They have a small story of their own.


In other news... I read somewhere that manga sales went down 20% or something... I just smirked and thought to myself, if they actually stopped blocking the release of some manga outside America then maybe... maaaaaaaaybe their sales wouldn't have gone down. But that's just my take on it...

I am guilty of looking for scans of licensed manga, if it was scanlated. But I do that just to find out if it is worth buying or not, I've bought a lot of manga that I've regretted spending money on. It sickens me to find copies of the some english manga already released, scanned and available for download. Scanlations for sharing, sure, but not the actual manga... that is just the worst thing you could possibly do to the translated manga industry *sigh*


Damn... I was wondering why the site I get the manga releases for the week wasn't updated yet... I then remembered that Monday was a holiday in the US...

edit: okay... after posting that, the site suddenly updated o.o something tells me this is going to be a frustrating day.... and there is no yaoi released this week... the release dates for Double and Endless were moved to next week...

Strange

Nope, that's not a manga title... it was just weird that when I tried to access my blog, it said it was removed, not blocked... REMOVED!!!

That freaked me out a little 'coz I've been planning to make a blog like this for a while now, and I finally actually do a followup post and it gets removed!

And I didn't even post any of the smutty pics...

I wish they emailed me as to WHY it was removed... all it said was there was suspicious activity or something, but by the time I verified my account. I couldn't find the link to what this suspicious activity was... I didn't post links to scans, I didn't even post the scanlator's names, there are no pornographic pics, there are no links to pornographic sites(ew), I don't think I did any copyright infringement since this is what I think of a manga and it's not like I'm claiming the screen caps are my drawings... I just don't get it :(
